Frequently asked questions about dentures

Frequently asked questions about dentures
What are Dentures?

Dentures are an acrylic prosthesis used to replace missing teeth.

What is the difference between partial and complete dentures?

The difference between partial and complete dentures is in the number of teeth they replace and the materials used to fabricate them. Partial dentures replace part of an arch of teeth. Complete dentures replace all of an arch of teeth.

What is the difference between immediate and conventional dentures?

When teeth are extracted, an immediate denture is placed to act as a bandage and give you teeth. Once healing and tissue remodeling has occurred (generally 3-6 months) a definitive conventional denture is fabricated.

What is an Overdenture?

Overdenture is a general term that covers dentures that snap over teeth roots or dental implants.
