What are Dental Implants?

What are Dental Implants? If you are missing one or more teeth, you may be a candidate for Dental Implants. Dental Implants can be placed in most patients who are in good to moderate health. Only a trained expert like Dr. Cebrynski can determine your best treatment plan.
See Dental Implant Before and After. Dental Implants are commercially pure titanium metal fixtures. They are used to replace the root of a tooth, or support a metal framework to hold a denture in place. These fixtures are surgically placed in the jawbones and allowed to heal for 2-4 months.

In some cases they can be used immediately. Over time the body’s bone cells grow and fuse to the surface of the implant. This is called osseointegration. Once this integration process is complete, the implant can be used to retain a crown, bridge or dentures.
